the story:
Phil DeGuere was a TV producer most noted for the '80's TV show "Simon and Simon". During the '80's he set out to make a film that was to be entitled "Armageddon Rag." This was to have been produced from the novel of the same name by George R.R. Martin, but was never completed. In the book, the title song "Armageddon Rag" is played by a band called "The Nazgûl." DeGuere was a friend of the Grateful Dead and he put together this ficticious rock band "The Nazgûl" to appear in the movie and do the sound track. The project was scrapped but here is the music in beautiful sound quality. All Cip fans will love this.

Wow didn't know about this one! Heard about it on the Grateful Deadcast "Workingman's Dead 50, Episode 3: Dire Wolf" episode. Always great to find some "new" Robert Hunter material for my ears. Boy, I hope somebody is keeping a comprehensive log of Hunter's co-writes, lyrics, recordings, books, etc in existence! Not to mention getting as much of this material as possible re-published. Hunter is long overdue for some remastering/box set love on at least some of albums!!!
